Custom Electric Guitars...
I build to custom order and also sell my prototype instruments when
available. – see instruments for sale in the Gallery – I can build from basic
models to carved top or hollow body styles to your standard of
specification. I can inlay into the body or fingerboard any
design you require. Also any finish can usually be applied to
your specification.
Pickups, hardware are your choice, if required I will build
or upgrade pickups. Any wiring options can be catered for,
active or passive.
Any body shape or neck shape can be specified – no extra charge for left-handed.
The woods I generally use are as follows.
Body
- Mahogany
- Walnut
- Maple
- Ash
- Poplar
- Iroko
- Afzelia
Different combinations of these woods can tweak the sound to your requirements.
Neck
- Mahogany
- Walnut
- Maple
- Rosewood
These can be made 1 piece or laminated construction,
quarter sawn or slab sawn dependant on style.
Fingerboard
- Rosewood
- Ebony
- Maple
These will always be quarter sawn for stability and less shrinkage.
I usually use Jim Dunlop (USA) fret wire as I have found this best for choice of sizes
and longer lasting that other makes
With all these woods I use fully seasoned and stable stock, the grade
of the grain pattern is your choice.
